Black Box, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. has announced Need for Speed™ Undercover, the intense action racing title scheduled for release later this year. The new game will feature international movie star, Maggie Q, as the lead character in the big-budget live-action sequences that propel the original story forward as players get behind the wheel. EA’s Need for Speed Undercover takes the franchise back to its roots and re-introduces break-neck cop chases, the world’s hottest cars and spectacular highway battles.

Other Ocean Interactive, the developers of Super Monkey Ball – one of the most popular downloads from the Apple App Store – today announced a specialized iPhone division will be created at its studio in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

“Our experience working with Apple’s SDK has been extremely positive and the iPhone, with its accelerometer, opens up exciting opportunities for game development on this platform,” explained Gordon Wood, Other Ocean’s technical director and senior programmer. “The iPhone platform has generated a lot of attention and people are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.”
