Eclosion announced

Candella Systems Ltd and Eipix Entertainment have announced Eclosion, for the PC, XBLA, PSP and Wii.

An intense top down shooter featuring cutting-edge 3D graphics, particle systems and post-processing effects, Eclosion features a multitude of ships, upgradeable weapons and combat environments ranging from ice worlds to deep space asteroid belts.

The game features both Solo and Co-op Single Player modes. Paying homage to the sci-fi shooters of the yester years, Eclosion has a music soundtrack with a blend of modern and authentic retro music created on analogue retro synthesizers like the original SID chip on the Commodore 64.

F1 2009 features new Abu Dhabi track

With the 2009 FIA F1 championship having come to a close after an amazing weekend at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi the attention of the F1 fans is moving to the imminent release of the official video game of the season, F1 2009. Coming to the Nintendo Wii and PSP on 20th November, F1 2009 will give gamers their first chance to experience the state of the art Yas Marina track for themselves.

Introduced to the calendar this season, the Abu Dhabi GP is fully playable in F1 2009 and Codemasters have released a new gameplay trailer showcasing the 5.55km track which has been purpose built for F1 on a man made island. The video is available to view at the new F1 2009 website www.formula1-game.com.

The website has been relaunched today with a completely new look and feel to reflect the game’s iconic art style. F1 fans visiting the website will be able to view all of the videos and screenshots that have been released for F1 2009 and get the latest news about the game. BioShock 2 due next year

2K Games announced yesterday that BioShock 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2007 Game of the Year, will be available worldwide beginning February 9, 2010. The game is now available for pre-order.

Currently in development for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, and Games for Windows LIVE, BioShock 2 will deliver two unique, yet intertwined experiences that form the perfect blend of explosive first-person shooter combat, compelling storytelling and intense multiplayer action.

Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival.

Multiplayer in BioShock 2 will provide a rich prequel experience that expands the origins of the BioShock fiction. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions, a premier provider of Plasmids and Tonics in the underwater city of Rapture that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the BioShock toolset to survive, as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.

100 Million Creations take over Spore Universe

What do beaked coralfish, whimsical snow globes and intricate atom models all have in common? They are all pieces of content created by players of the critically-acclaimed video game, Spore. Today, Maxis announced that since launching the Spore Creature Creator in June 2008, Spore fans have created and uploaded 100 Million creations – an average of more than 306,000 daily – on the Sporepedia at www.spore.com, the Spore library of user-generated content.

The 100 Million represents a variety of uploaded creations including 31,017,761 Spore creatures – more than 19 times the number of known species on Earth. The 100 Millionth creation and the entire collection of player-generated content can be seen at the Sporepedia.

Villainous Plots and Heroic Plans

MMORPG City of Heroes takes another step forward with a free update allowing players to design their own missions and story arcs to share with the entire City of Heroes community.

Players will be able to use an intuitive interface to create their own missions from the ground up by determining details ranging from environments, mission objectives, and enemies, to written fiction and character dialogue – giving their stories nearly infinite depth and personalization.

Call of Duty: World At War hits UK shelves

The Newest Edition of the Award-Winning Franchise hit the UK streets yesterday, promising the most realistic and grittiest experience to date.
